Fixing Scanned PDF Orientation
A sideways scan can mean the page angle is wrong (rotation fixes it) or the content was photographed at an angle (perspective distortion; rescan or correct the image). Rotate first; if text is still skewed, rotation will not help. Fix orientation before OCR.
Whole page sideways: rotate.
Skewed/trapezoid text: perspective issue; reshoot/correct.
Rotate, crop, then OCR.
Keep a copy; do not overwrite the original.
